About Me

Hey, I'm Christian, or you can call me Chris. Doesn't matter. I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, spending most of my time in the Delmar Loop. Proud alumni of St. Louis University High School (SLUH) and WashU, where I graduated with dual degrees from Olin Business School and the College of Arts & Sciences.

After two awesome decades in StL, I moved to Chicago to start a career doing...something. I lucked into learning SQL on the job and that set everything in motion towards a career in business intelligence and revenue operations. Since then I've worked across unicorn startups and post-IPO companies, navigated layoffs, built and managed teams, and met tons of incredible people.

Along the way I met my wife, got my first dog, bought a house, and had a son, putting firm roots down in Chicago while remaining close to family and friends in StL. I still have a pet snake from grade school.

I'm a talented amateur chef (according to my wife) and most nights you'll find me cooking dinner while listening to a podcast (which she probably doesn't like). I play poker with friends every month and lose far less money than I used to. I love getting lost to the music at a live show, especially jam bands. My bank account would like to forget that I've seen Phish 50+ times. When I'm reading it's probably historical non-fiction about war, technology, business, or cities. I can't leave a museum until I read every exhibit or I'm dragged out, whichever happens first. I also love to explore, either by riding my bike or going for long walks. You tend to find the coolest things when you're not looking for them.

In 2025 I was diagnosed with cancer after a layoff. Not great timing. Thankfully, I caught it early and I'm currently in remission, but it was certainly a "lol wut" type of situation. It happened in a flash and shifted my perspective for the next chapter of my life, especially as a father.

Now? I'm looking forward to what's next and actively leaning into our new AI-centric future with a degree of healthy skepticism. This is a part of that. Yes, this website was created with Claude. No, this wasn't written by Claude.
